More steps do not guarantee a better routine. For many people, a clear base is easier to maintain and evaluate.
Cleanse
Choose a cleanser intended for facial use and follow its directions. Cleansing should remove the day's buildup without turning discomfort into a sign that the product is working.
Moisturize
A moisturizer can support comfort and reduce the dry or tight feeling some people experience after cleansing. Texture preference matters: lighter lotions and richer creams create different experiences, and climate can change what feels suitable.
Consider daytime protection
Sun-protection guidance and suitable products vary by location, activity, and individual needs. Follow current local health guidance and product labels, and reapply when directed.
Add one product at a time
If you introduce an exfoliant, eye product, mask, or active ingredient, add it separately. This makes frequency and tolerance easier to assess. Follow warnings, avoid combining products when directions advise against it, and patch-test where recommended.
Skincare is personal. Stop using products that cause a concerning reaction and consult a qualified clinician for persistent acne, irritation, changing lesions, or other medical concerns.
